Since the start of the new year, I have been really into detox/clean juices. I love being able to jam back loads of vitamins and minerals into my morning without having to eat a full-blown meal which would leave me feeling weighed down for the rest of the day. However, a big problem that I have come to realize on this juice journey is that I am not a huge fan of a lot of the vegetable juices out there.
Lettuce juices are cringe-worthy.
Tomato juices can make my toes curl.
And don’t even let me get started on my feelings about celery juice. I know it is extremely good for you, but at what cost.
With this in mind, I came up with a juice recipe that is not only delicious but has tons of benefits for your health and really packs a punch during flu season. One glass of this little superhero will help start your morning right by cleaning out your gut, improving loads of different functions in your body, and preventing a variety of ailments.
YOU WILL NEED:
HONEY CRISP APPLES for glowing skin, improved immunity, liver health, diabetes prevention, asthma prevention, and cancer prevention.
CUCUMBERS for detoxing effects, a boost in immunity and energy, improved sleep and eyesight, assistance in regulating blood pressure, and an even complexion.
CARROTS to protect your eye health and brain’s health and cognitive function, for antioxidants, cancer prevention, and boosting the skin’s overall health.
BEETS for lowering blood pressure, improved stamina and muscle power, slowing the progression of dementia, cancer prevention, a boost in immunity and providing your body with a good source of minerals and potassium.
PARSLEY for antioxidants, antibacterial, and antifungal qualities, to relieve bloating, improve digestion, boost the immune system, and protect the eyes’ and skin’s health.
LEMONS for a good source of vitamin C, to promote hydration, improve the skin, and aid in digestion.
GINGER to improve digestion, relieve congestion and cold systems, diminish pain, control high blood pressure, and support the skin’s health.
KALE for antioxidants, loads of vitamins and nutrients, help in lowering cholesterol, numerous cancer-fighting qualities, and to protect the eyes.
- 3 honey crisp apples
- 2 cucumbers
- 5 carrots
- 1 beet
- 3 stalks of kale
- 3 tablespoons lemon juice
- 1-inch ginger
- Handful of parsley
- Using a juicer, juice all ingredients into a single container. If you wish to remove pulp or foam, pour the juice through a fine wired strainer into another pitcher.
- Chill and enjoy~
